Offer Description
Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
Harald Lund’s research group is recruiting a research assistant to lead a project studying how peripheral sensory neurons communicate with the vasculature and blood. The project will employ in vivo mouse studies and ex vivo analyses of tissues using several state-of-the art techniques.
The major goal of the lab is to map the cellular and molecular architecture of the blood-nerve barrier during health and disease. We aim to uncover novel physiological functions of the blood-nerve barrier and to understand whether manipulating this can be a strategy to treat disorders where sensory neurons are damaged or destroyed.
Your mission
As a research assistant you will perform in vivo experiments, behavioral assessments, tissue dissections and ex vivo analyses of tissues using techniques such as immunohistology/imaging, flow cytometry and proteomics/mass spectrometry.
Your profile
Requirements:
- Master’s thesis in Biomedicine or similar
- Practical experience working in research laboratory
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Recommendation from previous supervisors
Meriting:
- Knowledge of and enthusiastic interest in neurobiology and immunology
- Experience of relevant experimental techniques such as flow cytometry, qPCR, bioinformatics/programming, behavioral testing, tissue dissection, immunohistochemistry and proteomics (mass spectrometry)
- FELASA certification or equivalent
