Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek invites applications for the appointment of one teacher for the teaching title of a lecturer and the position of a lecturer in the scientific area of Technical Sciences, scientific field of Computer Engineering on an indefinite full-time contract in the Department of Software Engineering.

Applicants are required to meet the requirements pursuant to Article 39, paragraphs 1 and 4 and Article 119, paragraph 6 of the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette no. 119/22), article 123, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the University Senate, article 52, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Faculty Senate, revised text, i.e. general and special requirements laid down by the Decision of the Rectors' Conference on the necessary requirements for the assessment of teaching and professional activities in the procedure for appointment to teaching positions (“Official Gazette” No. 13/12., 24/12. and 120/21.) and the requirements pursuant to Articles 9 and 36 of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek Regulations on Election in the Scientific, Scientific-Educational, Artistic-Educational, Educational, Associate and Professional Titles and Corresponding Employment Positions available on the Faculty’s website www.ferit.unios.hr/fakultet/natjecaji.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates who, based on special regulations - the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and their Family Members (Official Gazette No. 121/17, 98/19 and 84/21), Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette No. 84/21), Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette No. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette No. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20), would like to use the right to priority employment, are required to indicate their intention and submit evidence supporting their priority employment. The above-mentioned candidates have priority employment only under equal conditions.

 

If an applicant has the right of a hiring privilege, one needs to specify that in the job application. Applicants wanting to exercises the hiring privilege pursuant to a special law are required to send required documents proving the hiring privilege, a confirmation issued by the Croatian Employment Service at the time of vacancy announcement proving that an applicant is an unemployed person and a proof of terminating the last job’s contract. The hiring privilege can be exercised only if applicants meet the same requirements. Candidates who would like to use priority employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette No. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) are obliged to invoke this right and submit all evidence of meeting the required conditions, as well as proof of disability.

Selection process

The vacancy is open to male and female participants. Incomplete and late applications will not be taken into consideration. A complete application is the one containing all information and appendices and is personally signed by the applicant.

 

Applicants will be called for an interview and tested for skills necessary for the advertised job position. They will be notified on the job interview details on the Faculty website www.ferit.unios.hr. Applicants who do not attend the interview/testing will no longer be considered as applicants.

Applicants who are foreign nationals have to submit a Croatian language certificate in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (C2 level).

Applicants will be informed on the results within the legal timeframe (15 days of the procedure closure).
