We announce a competition for the post Research Assistant in Department of Technological and Social Aspects of Cybersecurity at the NASK Centre for Research and Development.
The aim of the Department of Technological and Social Aspects of Cybersecurity is to conduct interdisciplinary research related to the human-centric cybersecurity. The scope of department research includes the identification and control of psychological, social, and technical factors that influence cyberspace security.
Main research interest:
• cognitive, personality, and behavioral determinants of cyber security-related behaviors;
• analysis of the cybersecurity skill gap;
• designing effective methods of education in the area of cybersecurity.
We are looking for an ambitious and committed researcher with interdisciplinary research experience in the area of both cyber security and security in the use of new technologies, as well as social and technological aspects of cyber security and human centric cybersecurity approaches. The post holder should also have a clear vision of interesting research directions concerning these areas, supported by knowledge of the current state of the art.
Tasks:
- Nurturing the Department's vision and mission
- Co-managing the Department's portfolio of research and development initiatives
- Direct participation in coordinating and conducting scientific research in the Department
- Scientific and technical cooperation of the Department within NASK and with external entities
- Publication activities and raising funds for ongoing projects

Requirements:
- Possession of at least a master's degree or a master's degree in engineering (preferred fields of study: technical informatics and telecommunications, computer science, safety engineering).
- Proven scientific achievements (publications in national and international journals, presentations at conferences, participation in scientific and R&D projects) in the area of cybersecurity, security in the use of new technologies, taking into account social and technological aspects of cybersecurity and a human-centric cybersecurity approach.
- A clear vision of interesting research directions concerning technological and social aspects of cybersecurity and human-centered approaches to cybersecurity, supported by knowledge of the current state of the art in this field.
- Knowledge of contemporary research methodologies used in the field of HCI and HCC, with a particular emphasis on quantitative methods.
- Familiarity with tools that enable independent data analysis (e.g., R, Python, SPSS).
- Familiarity with tools for creating reports, presentations, and publications (e.g., LaTeX, RMarkdown).
- Ability to work with scientific literature (e.g., monitoring databases, creating systematic reviews).
- Very good knowledge of Polish (min. B2 level) and fluency in English.
- Willingness to continue scientific development in the discipline of technical computer science and telecommunications.
Will be treated as an advantage:
- Experience in conducting applied and industrial research, aimed at practical use of results.
- Experience in conducting user research (e.g., planning and conducting experiments, usability tests, interviews).
- Experience and scientific knowledge regarding R&D issues related to contemporary paradigms of cybersecurity education.
- Academic internships in renowned research centers.

- a list of research projects in which the candidate/candidate has participated, including the role of the candidate/candidate in the project;
- list of publications;
- list of positions held.
- a motivation letter addressed to the Director of NASK - PIB, containing, in particular, an outline of the vision of the future research directions, no more than 2 pages of A4 format;
- a statement of consent to the processing of personal data for recruitment purposes,
- copies of educational evidence.
