Work Contracts

Description

In Tunisia, employer have to put a strong written contract with the employee that spells out the terms of the employee’s compensation, benefits, and termination requirements. An Offer letter and employment contract in Tunisia should always state the salary and any compensation amounts in Tunisian Dinar rather than a foreign currency.

There are several work contracts that researchers may have been offered. This depends on the research sector (private or public), duration of the appointment, and type of engagement required.

Salary, working hours, days off, sector (public/private), etc. may be different according to type of contract, category, etc.

A trial period of 3 up to 6 months is typically envisaged and a monthly compensation (salary or wage) is paid by the employer monthly.

Legal weekly working time

The legal working time for full-time employees is set at 40 hours per week for all companies, regardless of their workforce.
